Er3+ doped boro-tellurite glasses for 1.5 mum broadband amplification
TL;DR: In this paper, a tellurite-based glass composition for use in EDFAs exhibits higher phonon energy without sacrificing optical, thermal or chemical durability properties, and the introduction of boron oxide (B2O3) into the Er3+-doped tellurites has been shown to enhance thermal stability and particularly the chemical durability of the boro-tellurite glasses.

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of compact multimode pumped erbium-doped phosphate fiber amplifiers is presented, with a small signal net gain of 41 dB at 1535 nm and 21 dB over the full C-band.
