Two novel lncRNAs discovered in human mitochondrial DNA using PacBio full-length transcriptome data.
Shan Gao,Xiaoxuan Tian,Hong Chang,Yu Sun,Zhenfeng Wu,Zhi Cheng,Pengzhi Dong,Qiang Zhao,Jishou Ruan,Wenjun Bu +9 more
TL;DR: The first full-length human mitochondrial transcriptome using public PacBio data was produced and two novel long non-coding RNAs of MDL1 andMDL1AS exist ubiquitously in animal mitochondrial genomes.

Using Pan RNA-Seq Analysis to Reveal the Ubiquitous Existence of 5' and 3' End Small RNAs.
Xiaofeng Xu,Haishuo Ji,Xiufeng Jin,Zhi Cheng,Yao Xue,Yanqiang Liu,Qiang Zhao,Tao Zhang,Jishou Ruan,Wenjun Bu,Ze Chen,Shan Gao +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used pan RNA-seq analysis to reveal the ubiquitous existence of both 5' and 3' end small RNAs (5' and three' sRNAs).
Using high-resolution annotation of insect mitochondrial DNA to decipher tandem repeats in the control region
Haishuo Ji,Xiaofeng Xu,Jin Xiufeng,Cheng Zhi,jin Hong,Guangyuan Liu,Qiang Zhao,Ze Chen,Wenjun Bu,Shan Gao +9 more
TL;DR: This study used a small RNA sequencing (sRNA-seq) based method to annotate the mitochondrial genome of the insect Erthesina fullo Thunberg at 1 bp resolution and found that the copy numbers of tandem repeats showed a great diversity within an individual, enriching the fundamental knowledge of mitochondrial biology.

A Negative Feedback Model to Explain Regulation of SARS-CoV-2 Replication and Transcription
Xin Li,Zhi Cheng,Fang Wang,Jia Chang,Qiang Zhao,Hao Zhou,Chang Liu,Jishou Ruan,Guangyou Duan,Shan Gao +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a negative feedback model was proposed to explain the regulation of CoV replication and transcription, providing a molecular basis of the leader-to-body fusion model and enrich fundamental knowledge in the field of gene expression and its regulation.
How the replication and transcription complex of SARS-CoV-2 functions in leader-to-body fusion
Xin Li,Qiang Zhao,Jia Chang,Guangyou Duan,Jinlong Bei,Payton Tung On Yau,Jianyi Yang,Jishou Ruan,Bingjun He,Gao Shan +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors determined the theoretical arrangement of NSP12-16 in the global RTC structure and revealed the associations between multiple functions of the RTC including RNA synthesis, NSP15 cleavage, RNA methylation, and CoV replication and transcription at the molecular level.
