Association and linkage analyses of RGS4 polymorphisms in schizophrenia
Kodavali V. Chowdari,Karoly Mirnics,Prachi Semwal,Joel Wood,Elizabeth A. Lawrence,Triptish Bhatia,Smita N. Deshpande,B.K. Thelma,Robert E. Ferrell,Frank A. Middleton,Bernie Devlin,Pat Levitt,David A. Lewis,Vishwajit L. Nimgaonkar +13 more
TL;DR: The results illustrate the potential power of combining gene expression profiling and genomic analyses to identify susceptibility genes for genetically complex disorders.

Molecular genetics of schizophrenia: past, present and future
TL;DR: Significant technological advances for identification of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and use of microarrays have further strengthened research methodologies for genetic analysis of complex traits.

Novel, Replicated Associations Between Dopamine D3 Receptor Gene Polymorphisms and Schizophrenia in Two Independent Samples
Michael E. Talkowski,Hader Mansour,Kodavali V. Chowdari,Joel Wood,Allison Butler,Panchami G. Varma,Suman Prasad,Prachi Semwal,Triptish Bhatia,Smita N. Deshpande,Bernie Devlin,B.K. Thelma,Vishwajit L. Nimgaonkar +12 more
TL;DR: These data suggest previous inconsistencies might have resulted from associations with other DRD3 variants, and a liability locus might be in linkage disequilibrium (LD) with or carried against, an associated haplotype 3' to rs6280.

Family-based association studies of monoaminergic gene polymorphisms among North Indians with schizophrenia.
Prachi Semwal,Suman Prasad,Triptish Bhatia,Smita N. Deshpande,Joel Wood,Vishwajit L. Nimgaonkar,B.K. Thelma +6 more
TL;DR: Polymorphisms within the genes encoding the serotonin 2A receptor, tryptophan hydroxylase, catechol-O-methyl transferase and dopamine transporter were investigated and two polymorphisms each were analyzed at HT2A and TPH, enabling haplotype-based analyses using the transmission disequilibrium test (TDT) for these genes.

Differing correlates for suicide attempts among patients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder in India and USA
Triptish Bhatia,Pramod Thomas,Prachi Semwal,B.K. Thelma,Vishwajit L. Nimgaonkar,Smita N. Deshpande +5 more
TL;DR: The impact of known risk factors for suicide attempts among patients with schizophrenia differs across ethnic groups.
