A multi-centre randomised phase III trial of Dexamethasone vs Dexamethasone and diethylstilbestrol in castration-resistant prostate cancer: immediate vs deferred Diethylstilbestrol
Jonathan Shamash,Thomas Powles,Shah-Jalal Sarker,Andrew Protheroe,N Mithal,R Mills,R Beard,Peter Wilson,N Tranter,N. O'Brien,S. McFaul,T. Oliver +11 more
TL;DR: D deferring Diethylstilbestrol until failure of Dexamethasone is the preferred strategy when using these agents in CRPC, and patients treated with previous anti-androgens alone had more than 5 times more risk of death compared with patients treating with gonadorelin analogues throughout their castration-sensitive phase.
Long-Term Outcomes in Patients with Prostate Cancer Managed with Intermittent Androgen Suppression
Tim Lane,W. Ansell,D. Farrugia,Peter Wilson,G. Williams,Frank Chinegwundoh,T. Philp,John Hines,R.T.D. Oliver +8 more
TL;DR: Long-term outcome figures and actuarial survival rates presented here provide further support for a pulsed or intermittent approach to androgen ablation in patients with prostate cancer and suggest that apparent survival advantages appear related, at least in part, to a delay in the onset of androgen resistance.

Diffusion-weighted and multiphase contrast-enhanced MRI as surrogate markers of response to neoadjuvant sunitinib in metastatic renal cell carcinoma
Nishat Bharwani,Marc E. Miquel,Thomas Powles,Philip Dilks,A. Shawyer,Anju Sahdev,Peter Wilson,Simon Chowdhury,Daniel M. Berney,Andrea Rockall +9 more
TL;DR: Primary RCC ADC histogram analysis shows dynamic changes with sunitinib, and patients in whom the tumour ADC histograms demonstrated high baseline AUClow or a greater-than-median increase inAUClow with treatment had reduced OS.
A distinct DNA methylation profile associated with microsatellite and chromosomal stable sporadic colorectal cancers
Andrew Silver,Neel Sengupta,David Propper,Peter Wilson,Thorsten Hagemann,Asif Patel,Alexandra Parker,Anil Ghosh,Roger Feakins,Sina Dorudi,Nirosha Suraweera +10 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that MACS have distinct clinicopathological features and can be distinguished from other CRCs by a specific set of methylation loci.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia with t(4;11) translocation after osteogenic sarcoma.
TL;DR: The observations of the authors support the possibility of a causal relationship between exposure to carcinogens and the occurrence of leukemia with t(4;11) and suggest early B lineage involvement.
