A method and apparatus for creation, distribution, assembly and verification of media, including one embodiment, media is transmitted to a receiver where the receiver assembles the media into programming. In another embodiment, media is transmitted to the receiver from a plurality of sources. In a further embodiment, a source of media performs a tagging operation to associate sets of tags with elements of the stream of media. In various embodiments, different combinations of look-and-feel, content and other tags are associated with the media stream. In an additional embodiment, tagging of the media stream is performed at the receiver. A user at the receiver may also provide data about the user to the receiver. In yet another embodiment, the receiver uses the tags to assemble the media into a program. In still further embodiments of the invention, various Royalty Only Aggregate Revenues or “ROAR” models and apparatus are disclosed.

The present invention generally relates to systems, methods and applications utilizing the convergence of any combination of the following three technologies: wireless positioning or localization technology, wireless communications technology and sensor technology. In particular, certain embodiments of the present invention relate to a remote device that includes a sensor for determining or measuring a desired parameter, a receiver for receiving position data from the Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite system, a processor for determining whether or not alert conditions are present and a wireless transceiver for transmitting the measured parameter data and the position data to a central station, such as an application service provider (ASP). The ASP, in turn, may communicate the measured data, position data and notification of any alerts to an end user via an alert device. The present invention also relates to various applications and systems utilizing the capabilities of such a device.

Systems and Methods For Monitoring and Tracking

The invention provides a unique interactive play experience carried out utilizing a toy 'wand' (100) and/or other actuation/tracking device (321, 325). In one embodiment the wand (100) incorporates a wireless transmitter (150) and motion-sensitive circuitry (115) adapted to actuate the transmitter in response to particular learned wand motions. The wand allows play participants to electronically and 'magically' interact with their surrounding play environment simply by pointing, touching and/or using their wands (100) in a particular manner to achieve desired goals or produce desired effects (376, 377, 378). Various wireless receivers or actuators (362) are distributed throughout the play facility to support such wireless interaction and to facilitate full immersion in a fantasy experience in which participants can enjoy the realistic illusion of practicing, performing and mastering 'real' magic.

Embodiments of the invention provide a unique interactive game that includes multiple dynamic layers in which a participant may complete a variety of challenges and/or tasks. For example, the participant may obtain a toy “wand” from a retail phase that is usable in an interactive entertainment phase. The participant may also receive training on how to use the wand and/or complete one or more special effects, adventures and/or quests. During or following the interactive entertainment phase, the participant may use accumulated points and/or powers to redeem prizes and/or compete against other participants, such as in a duel.

Method and System for Mediating Interactive Services Over A Wireless Communications Network

A treasure hunt type game that utilizes global positioning satellite ('GPS') equipped wireless communications devices. Players are given clues or directions to proceed along one of many predetermined treasure hunt routes based on their location as determined by the GPS. Based on these clues or directions, players change their locations. Based on these changes locations, as determined by the GPS, additional clues or directions are given to the players until one of the players completes the treasure hunt route and arrives at the treasure to win the game. The game also incorporates other variables in determining the clues to provide to players, such as the location of other players as determined by their GPS devices, the previous locations of the player and other players and whether the player has correctly solved certain clues.
