The invention refers to a centrifugal separator comprising a stationary casing defining an inner space, a spindle and a rotating member, which is attached to the spindle and arranged to rotate around an axis of rotation with a rotary speed. The rotating member comprises a number of separating discs which are provided in the inner space. A drive member drives the spindle and the rotating member with said rotary speed. A sensor device senses the rotation of the rotating member in relation to the casing. The sensor device comprises at least one transmitter element which is provided in the inner space on the rotating member and a receiver element which is provided at the casing and arranged to sense the transmitter element. The receiver element is provided on the casing outside the inner space.

A drainage system is for a compressor assembly that includes at least one separator with a chamber. The system includes a drain valve fluidly coupled with the separator chamber and adjustable between open and closed states. An actuator is operatively coupled with and adjusts the valve between the open and closed states or/and a sensor senses when the valve is open. A pressure sensor is configured to sense pressure within the chamber and a logic circuit is coupled with the pressure sensor and determines when the valve either has been or should have been adjusted to the open state. A centrifugal separator

A seal assembly for a compressor includes a static member fixedly disposed within a compressor casing and having an end surface and a rotatable separator coupled with a compressor shaft and spaced from the static member. The separator has an axial end with a radial end surface located adjacent to the static member end surface such that a clearance space is defined therebetween. The separator has a plurality of openings extending inwardly from the end surface and spaced about the shaft axis such that land surface sections are defined on the end surface. The land surface sections or/and the openings are configured to prevent fluid flow radially inwardly through the clearance space. The static member has two annular walls receiving an end portion of the separator, with annular ridges providing labyrinth seals disposed against inner and outer surfaces of the separator, and an annular deflector with an angled deflector surface.

A number of parallel guide rails (26), which run helically, are arranged on the inner side of the housing and extends axially at least over a major part of the length of the rotor (12), and the outlet (32) in the housing for cleaning gas is located, with respect to the axis, at one end of the rotor (12) while the outlet (28 a-c9 for the particles which have been collected on the housing wall is located at the opposite axial end of the rotor. The guide rails (26) are arranged in a direction on the inner side of the housing in relation to the direction of rotation of the rotor which is such that a peripherally outer of a gas vortex generated by the rotor is forced to entrain the particles which have been collected between the guide rails toward the particles outlet.

Centrifugal separator for cleaning gases

Centrifugal separator (10) for separation of solid and/or liquid particles suspended in gas media, comprising a rotor (12) which is rotatably mounted in a surrounding stationary housing (20). The housing has, firstly, an outlet (32) for cleaned gas which, when passing through the rotor, has been freed of solid and/or liquid particles, secondly, an outlet (34) for the solid and/or liquid particles transferred to the lateral wall (28) of the housing. The outlet (34) for the solid and/or liquid particles is in the form of at least one but preferably a plurality of through-holes in the lateral wall of the housing. According to the invention, an annular baffle element (30), extending substantially inwardly from the lateral wall of the housing, is arranged downstream of the hole (34) at such a distance that during the operation a gas cushion, generated upstream of the baffle element, creates a ring (38) of the solid and/or liquid particles, level with the outlet hole (34).
