Extracorporeal Cardiac Shock Wave Therapy Markedly Ameliorates Ischemia-Induced Myocardial Dysfunction in Pigs in Vivo
Takahiro Nishida,Hiroaki Shimokawa,Keiji Oi,Hideki Tatewaki,Toyokazu Uwatoku,Kohtaro Abe,Yasuharu Matsumoto,Noriyoshi Kajihara,Masataka Eto,Takehisa Matsuda,Hisataka Yasui,Akira Takeshita,Kenji Sunagawa +12 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that extracorporeal cardiac SW therapy is an effective and noninvasive therapeutic strategy for ischemic heart disease.

The UW solution has greater potential for longer preservation periods than the Celsior solution: comparative study for ventricular and coronary endothelial function after 24-h heart preservation
Noriyoshi Kajihara,Shigeki Morita,Yoshihisa Tanoue,Noriko Boku,Masataka Eto,Takahiro Nishida,Ryuji Tominaga +6 more
TL;DR: The UW group showed better left ventricular function than the CelsIOR group, indicating that the UW solution has greater potential for long-term preservation than Celsior solution.

Pulmonary Artery Banding for Functionally Single Ventricles: Impact of Tighter Banding in Staged Fontan Era
Noriyoshi Kajihara,Toshihide Asou,Yuko Takeda,Yoshimichi Kosaka,Yasuko Onakatomi,Hiroyuki Nagafuchi,Seiyo Yasui +6 more
TL;DR: The present strategy could prevent volume overload and improve the achievement and survival rates of right heart bypass operations.

Surgical experience of cardiac tumors: early and late results.
Noriyoshi Kajihara,Yoshihisa Tanoue,Masataka Eto,Yukihiro Tomita,Munetaka Masuda,Shigeki Morita +5 more
TL;DR: Cardiac myxomas and nonmyxomatous benign cardiac tumors show excellent results after a surgical excision, with a low morbidity and mortality, and a surgical resection should be considered as a treatment option for patients with malignant tumors.

A comparative study of cardiac preservation with Celsior or University of Wisconsin solution with or without prior administration of cardioplegia.
TL;DR: Cardiac function in the Celsior group was inferior to that in both the C-UW group and UW group, and celsior solution did not surpass UW solution regardless of the use of cardioplegia.
