Water stress induced cavitation and embolism in some woody plants
Melvin T. Tyree,Mike Dixon +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a comparison of the relative vulnerability of xylem conduits to cavitation and embolism in three species was made, and the authors found that the vessel bearing wood retained water better than tracheid bearing wood.

Cavitation Events in Thuja occidentalis L.? : Utrasonic Acoustic Emissions from the Sapwood Can Be Measured.
Melvin T. Tyree,Mike Dixon +1 more
TL;DR: Strong circumstantial evidence indicates that the ultrasonic AE result from cavitation events because: (a) they occur only when the xylem pressure potential Psi(xp) is more negative than a threshold level of about -1 megapascal; (b) the rate of AE events increases as Psi(-xp) decreases and when the net rate of water loss increases; (c) the AE can be stopped by raising Psi (xp) above -1Megapascal.
Botanical biofiltration of indoor gaseous pollutants – A mini-review
TL;DR: In this paper, the potential and challenges of using botanical bio-filtration for reducing the impact of gaseous pollutants in indoor environments are reviewed and a review of the current state of the art and future research needs is presented.

TL;DR: The iMOST team as mentioned in this paper defined a set of science and engineering objectives for the Mars Sample Return (MSR) campaign and provided a framework for demonstrating how the first set of returned Martian samples would impact future Martian science and exploration.
The Biofiltration of Indoor Air: Air Flux and Temperature Influences the Removal of Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene
TL;DR: A biofilter with living botanical matter as the packing medium reduced concentrations of toluene, ethylbenzene, and o-xylene concurrently present at parts per billion (volume) in indoor air.
