Stromal regulatory T-cells are associated with a favourable prognosis in gastric cancer of the cardia
Matthias Haas,Arno Dimmler,Werner Hohenberger,Gerhard G. Grabenbauer,Gerald Niedobitek,Luitpold Distel +5 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that inflammatory processes within the tumour stroma of gastric intestinal-type adenocarcinomas located at the gastric cardia may affect outcome in two ways: Tumour-infiltrating macrophages are likely to promote carcinogenesis while large numbers of Treg are associated with improved outcome probably by inhibiting local inflammatory processes promoting carcinogenesis.
Prostate cancer detection on transrectal ultrasonography-guided random biopsy despite negative real-time magnetic resonance imaging/ultrasonography fusion-guided targeted biopsy: reasons for targeted biopsy failure
Hannes Cash,Karsten Günzel,Andreas Maxeiner,Carsten Stephan,Thomas Fischer,Tahir Durmus,Kurt Miller,Patrick Asbach,Matthias Haas,Carsten Kempkensteffen +9 more
TL;DR: To examine the value of additional transrectal ultrasonography‐guided random biopsy in patients with negative magnetic resonance imaging/ultrasonography fusion‐guided targeted biopsy and to identify possible reasons for TB failure.

Introducing the Node Reporting and Data System 1.0 (Node-RADS): a concept for standardized assessment of lymph nodes in cancer
Fabian Henry Jürgen Elsholtz,Patrick Asbach,Matthias Haas,Minerva Becker,Regina G. H. Beets-Tan,Harriet C. Thoeny,Anwar R. Padhani,Bernd Hamm +7 more
TL;DR: The Node Reporting and Data System 1.0 (Node-RADS) as discussed by the authors has been proposed to address the lack of consensus in the radiologic assessment of lymph node involvement by cancer and meet the increasing demand for structured reporting on the likelihood of disease involvement.
Validation of Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System Version 2 for the Detection of Prostate Cancer.
Sebastian Hofbauer,Andreas Maxeiner,Beatrice Kittner,Robin Heckmann,Maximillian Reimann,Laura Wiemer,Patrick Asbach,Matthias Haas,Tobias Penzkofer,Carsten Stephan,Frank Friedersdorff,Florian Fuller,Kurt Miller,Hannes Cash +13 more
TL;DR: The cancer detection rate of PI‐RADS version 2 category 4 lesions was considerably higher than previously reported and when performing targeted biopsy, the combination with systematic biopsy still provides the highest detection of clinically significant prostate cancer.

Critical role of spatial interaction between CD8 + and Foxp3 + cells in human gastric cancer: the distance matters
Anita Feichtenbeiner,Matthias Haas,Maike Büttner,Gerhard G. Grabenbauer,Rainer Fietkau,Luitpold Distel +5 more
TL;DR: Prognostic influence of tumor-infiltrating immune cells in gastric cancer critically depends on their cell-to-cell distance, and FoxP3+ TILs must be located within a distance between 30 and 110 μm of CD8+ T cells to positively impact on prognosis.
