In an embodiment, an electromagnetic reluctance actuator comprises: a core assembly including a plurality of magnetic cores arranged in a two-dimensional plane, each core comprised of ferromagnetic material and wound by a coil of conductive wire, the coils operable for producing magnetic flux density in response to electrical currents flowing in the coils, wherein the current in each coil flows in a direction that is opposite the currents flowing in adjacent coils; and an actuator, at least a portion of which comprises ferritic material magnetically coupled to the coils by a magnetic circuit, for producing mechanical force in response to the effect of magnetic flux on the portion, the portion of the actuator being mounted for movement relative to the core assembly.

The invention provides a magnetic device and a manufacturing method thereof. The magnetic device includes two base portions having opposite first surfaces; the plurality of magnetic columns are arranged between the two first surfaces of the two base portions in a first direction; in the first direction, the two magnetic columns located on the outermost side are a first corner column and a second corner column respectively, the n magnetic columns which are located in the center and have the same cross section area are n center columns, and the n center columns form a center column unit. The cross sectional areas of the magnetic columns are gradually increased from the first corner column to the central column closest to the first corner column and from the second corner column to the central column closest to the second corner column. According to the magnetic device disclosed by the invention, the cross section areas of the plurality of magnetic columns change regularly, so that the uniformity of magnetic flux distribution of the base portions is effectively improved.
