Also, the grinding power at the time is read from the current value in the induction motor 15 for driving the contact roll 5. Therefore, if a power program is set up by investigating the grinding characteristics of the grinding belt beforehand, grinding may be carried out at a constant grinding amount to remove flaws on the band steel.

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of pushing-in flaws in stainless Ba products so as to improve the yield of the stainless BA products, by cleaning the surface of a coil and, at the same time, neutralize the static electricity of the coil after BA annealing by immediately passing the coil through cooling water or cooling hot water. CONSTITUTION:In the BA manufacturing process of a cold-rolled stainless steel coil, the coil is led into a BA furnace equipped with felt seals 8 and 8 on its inlet and outlet sides through a bridle 1 on the inlet side of the BA furnace and annealed by successively passing the coil through a chuter 7, top roll 4, heating zone, and cooling zone 6. The coil after the annealing is immediately passed to a water-cleaning device 9 equipped with water sprays 10 and brush rolls 11 through a dancer roll 3 and bridle 2 on the outlet side of the BA furnace, and cleaned with water or hot water. Accordingly, the coil surface is cleaned and, at the same time, the static electricity of the coil is neutralized. Therefore, the adhesion of foreign matters to the surface of the BA-processed coil is prevented and the occurrence of the pushing-in flaws in the BA or following BA process prevented.
