Elderly driver retraining using automatic evaluation system of safe driving skill
TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a system to automatically evaluate safe-driving skill through small wireless wearable sensors that directly measure the driver's behaviour, which can automatically identify shortcomings in driving skill with an accuracy of over 80%.

Collaborative environmental education using distributed virtual environment accessible from real and virtual worlds
TL;DR: A support system for collaborative environmental education, DigitalEE, which realizes distributed virtual environment accessible from real and virtual worlds, introduces the following diverse features into environmental education: global arguments supported by the Internet, giving learners pseudo experiences by virtual reality, supplementing real natural experiences by augmented reality, and giving learners experts' valuable knowledge by distance education.
Elderly driver retraining using automatic evaluation system of safe driving skill
Masahiro Tada,Haruo Noma,Akira Utsumi,Makoto Segawa,Masaya Okada,Kazumi Renge +5 more
- 01 Jan 2012
TL;DR: The authors results reveal that although elderly drivers are able to maintain a safe vehicle speed, their tendency to not scan around their vehicle to ensure safety makes their driving risky.
