TL;DR: Among patients at high risk for renal complications who were undergoing angiography, there was no benefit of intravenous Sodium bicarbonate over intravenous sodium chloride or of oral acetylcysteine over placebo for the prevention of death, need for dialysis, or persistent decline in kidney function at 90 days.

TL;DR: Whereas CA-AKI is associated with an increased relative risk of serious, adverse 90-day outcomes, the incidence of clinically significant CA- AKI is very low and CA-akI does not mediate the association of the pre-angiography estimated glomerular filtration rate with these outcomes.
