Impact of a double-pigtail stent on ureteral peristalsis in the porcine model: initial studies using a novel implantable magnetic sensor.
Ramakrishna Venkatesh,Jaime Landman,Scott D Minor,David I. Lee,Jamil Rehman,Richard Vanlangendonck,Maged Ragab,Kevin Morrissey,Chandru P. Sundaram,Ralph V. Clayman +9 more
TL;DR: A consistent correlation was found between laparoscopically observed peristaltic waves and the peristalsis detected by the two measuring devices.
Combined Percutaneous And Retrograde Approach To Staghorn Calculi With Application Of The Ureteral Access Sheath To Facilitate Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy
Jaime Landman,Ramakrishna Venkatesh,David I. Lee,Jamil Rehman,Maged Ragab,Michael D. Darcy,Chandru P. Sundaram +6 more
TL;DR: The preliminary clinical experience using the ureteral access sheath during percutaneous nephrolithotomy for simultaneous antegrade and retrograde stone treatment has been favorable, and a large renal stone burden can be successfully managed with a single per cutaneous access and limited blood loss.

Role of combined use of potassium citrate and tamsulosin in the management of uric acid distal ureteral calculi.
TL;DR: The use of urinary alkalization with tamsulosin can increase the frequency of spontaneous passage of distal ureteral uric acid stones especially those of 8–11 mm.

Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy: Washington University Initial Experience and Prospective Evaluation of Quality of Life
Jamil Rehman,Maged Ragab,Ramakrishna Venkatesh,Jaime Landman,David I. Lee,Cathy Chen,Yan Yan,Chandru P. Sundaram +7 more
TL;DR: Laroscopic prostatectomy is a reproducible technique with a steep learning curve and operating times and the incidence of anastomotic leaks and urinary incontinence decrease significantly after the initial 10 patients.
Evaluation of percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation for treatment of refrac-tory painful bladder syndrome
Maged Ragab,Mohamed Abo El-Enen,Mohamed Elnady,Osama M. El-Gamal,Mohamed El-Kordy,Tarek Gameel,Mohamed Rasheed +6 more
- 20 Oct 2014
TL;DR: Intermittent PTNS is not a satisfactory treatment for refractory interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome and it is recommended to perform more studies with other treatment protocol to confirm these results.
