Mpox virus infection and drug treatment modelled in human skin organoids.
Pengfei Li,Spyridon T. Pachis,Guige Xu,Rick Schraauwen,Roberto Incitti,Annemarie C de Vries,M.J. Bruno,Maikel P. Peppelenbosch,Intikhab Alam,Karine Raymond,Qiuwei Pan +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived skin organoids are susceptible to MPXV infection and support infectious virus production, and a model system for analysis of mpox virus pathogenesis and drug screening is established.

Mutation Analysis of Pancreatic Juice and Plasma for the Detection of Pancreatic Cancer.
Iris J. Levink,Maurice P.H.M. Jansen,Zakia Azmani,Wilfred F. J. van IJcken,Ronald van Marion,Maikel P. Peppelenbosch,Djuna L. Cahen,Gwenny M. Fuhler,M.J. Bruno +8 more
TL;DR: Next-generation sequencing on PJ, plasma, and tissue samples and the presence (and concordance) of mutations in these biomaterials confirmed that the detection rate of DNA mutations is higher in pancreatic juice than in plasma due to its closer contact with the pancreatic ductal system, and higher overall cell-free DNA concentrations.

Immunosuppressants exert differential effects on pan‐coronavirus infection and distinct combinatory antiviral activity with molnupiravir and nirmatrelvir
Yining Wang,Pengfei Li,Marla Lavrijsen,Robbert J. Rottier,Caroline M. den Hoed,M.J. Bruno,Nassim Kamar,Maikel P. Peppelenbosch,Annemarie C. de Vries,Qiuwei Pan +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the effects of immunosuppressants and the combination with oral antiviral drugs molnupiravir and nirmatrelvir on pan-coronavirus infection in cell and human airway organoids (hAOs) culture models were investigated.
