The Influence of Support Hardware and Piping System Seismic Response on Snubber Support Damping
TL;DR: In this paper, the damping coefficients and ratios of pipe support nodal displacement were found to vary logarithmically with pipe support nodal displacement, indicating that the 3-kip snubbers studied behaved essentially as coulomb dampers.

Application of the Ritz averaging method in the analysis of the seismic performance of piping systems
TL;DR: In this paper, the Ritz averaging method is used to reduce the nonlinear characteristics of piping system supports (snubbers) to equivalent linear support stiffnesses during seismic excitation.

The Influence of Higher Modes and Support Gaps on the Seismic Response of Piping Systems Containing Snubbers
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that variations in support condition do not significantly influence response in terms of nodal stress, fundamental frequency, and contribution of higher modes of vibration in flexible piping systems (0.6 to 6.6 Hz).
