Manipulation of lignin metabolism by plant densities and its relationship with lodging resistance in wheat
Mengjing Zheng,Chen Jin,Yuhua Shi,Yanxia Li,Yanping Yin,Dongqing Yang,Yongli Luo,Pang Dangwei,Xu Xu,Li Wenqian,Jun Ni,Wang Yuanyuan,Zhenlin Wang,Yong Li +13 more
TL;DR: The results showed that decreasing plant density enhanced culm quality, as revealed by increased culm diameter, wall thickness and dry weight per unit length, and improved the structure of sclerenchyma and vascular bundles by increasing lignification, resulting in strong lodging resistance in wheat.
Identification of plant hormones and candidate hub genes regulating flag leaf senescence in wheat response to water deficit stress at the grain-filling stage.
Yongli Luo,Pang Dangwei,Jin Min,Chen Jin,Xiang Kong,Li Wenqian,Chang Yonglan,Yong Li,Zhenlin Wang +8 more
- 01 Nov 2019
TL;DR: Con Conjoint analysis of physiological and biochemical indicators and transcriptome data by weighted gene co‐expression network analysis (WGCNA) in the present study provides a useful genomic and molecular resource for studying drought adaptation in wheat.

Interactions between cytokinin and nitrogen contribute to grain mass in wheat cultivars by regulating the flag leaf senescence process
Yongli Luo,Yuhai Tang,Yuhai Tang,Xin Zhang,Li Wenqian,Chang Yonglan,Pang Dangwei,Xu Xu,Yong Li,Zhenlin Wang +9 more
TL;DR: Foliar application of 6-BA interacting with N at the NN level (240 kg ha −1 ) may be a beneficial strategy for improving grain yield of wheat by regulating endogenous hormones and the flag leaf senescence process.

Exogenous abscisic acid coordinating leaf senescence and transport of assimilates into wheat grains under drought stress by regulating hormones homeostasis
Yongli Luo,Li Wenqian,Cui Huang,Yang Junhao,Jin Min,Chen Jin,Pang Dangwei,Chang Yonglan,Yong Li,Zhenlin Wang +9 more
TL;DR: Exogenous ABA can lead to the reduction in grain weight, yield, and WUE of wheat under SWD treatment, and improved drought tolerance was enhanced, and more photosynthetic assimilates were accumulated.

Starch granule size distribution in wheat grain in relation to shading after anthesis
Li Wenqian,S. Yan,Y. Yin,Z. Wang +3 more
TL;DR: In this paper, two high-yield winter wheat cultivars were grown under shade to evaluate the effect of low light intensity after anthesis on starch granule size distribution and starch components in wheat grains.
