Interactions of the cytoplasmic domain of the desmosomal cadherin Dsg1 with plakoglobin.
TL;DR: A region of Dsg1 sequence shows significant similarity to the catenin-binding domain of classical cadherins, suggesting a common mechanism for the association of plakoglobin with desmosomes and adherens junctions.

Desmoglein shows extensive homology to the cadherin family of cell adhesion molecules
TL;DR: Cloned cDNAs encoding four of the extracellular domains of desmoglein show extensive homology with the cadherin class of calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecules and represent a novel subtype of this family.

Isolation and characterization of the primary structure of testis-specific L-type calcium channel: implications for contraception.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that human spermatozoa express an L-type calcium channel which is responsive to nifedipine, and the slow kinetics by which the blockade of the human sperm channel was obtained can be correlated with alterations in channel activation and conductance associated with isoform diversity generated by alternate splicing as observed in the rat.

TL;DR: Interleukin-10 (IL10), an anti-inflammatory cytokine, has been implicated in a variety of immune- and inflammatory-related diseases by denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography (DHPLC) and found distinct genotype and haplotype patterns.

Alternative splicing of exons in the alpha1 subunit of the rat testis L-type voltage-dependent calcium channel generates germ line-specific dihydropyridine binding sites.
TL;DR: It is unequivocally demonstrated that an L-type VDCC is expressed in rat testis and that VD CC isoforms from ratTestis and heart differ in deduced amino acid composition in and around potential binding sites for calcium channel blocking drugs such as the dihydropyridines.
