The invention discloses a down-hole joint source-channel coding method based on wireless measurement while drilling. A wireless measurement while drilling system is composed of a sensor module, a data acquisition module, a communication module, a ground receiving module and a power supply module. The sensor module provides data; the data acquisition module comprises a microcontroller, a drive circuit, a pulse generator and a flash memory module; and the communication module completes communication through a serial communication interface. The method comprises the following specific steps of 1, configuring parameters for the data acquisition module and storing the parameters; 2, acquiring down-hole data and transmitting the data to the data acquisition module by the sensor module; 3, performing calibration, M-ary coding and storage for the data; 4, performing LZW compression; 5, judging a hole depth threshold value; 6, transmitting the data, subjected to RS-LZW joint coding, to the ground receiving module. The method has the following advantages of improving compression ratio of log data, wherein the compression ratio is up to 3:1; and reducing error rate of the data, and being capable of reconstructing original data better under the condition of lower signal-to-noise ratio.
