TL;DR: In this paper, a rolling process characterizes flatness of a metal strip by measuring a quantity D in n points distributed across the strip width, from n measurements of the quantity D. The action model on the flatness used for determining the overall setpoint includes, for the dynamic actuator, as many submodels as there are points for measuring the quantity characteristic of flatness.

TL;DR: In this article, the flatness regulation of a metal strip at the outlet of a rolling cage using a dynamic flatness driver is described, where the driver measures a height (D) at n points distributed over the length of the strip and a global consigned value is determined for the regulation system.
