Early Prediction of Response to Chemotherapy in Metastatic Breast Cancer Using Sequential 18F-FDG PET
Joerg Dose Schwarz,Michael Bader,Lars Jenicke,Gabriele Hemminger,Fritz Jänicke,Norbert Avril +5 more
TL;DR: In patients with metastatic breast cancer, sequential 18F-FDG PET allowed prediction of response to treatment after the first cycle of chemotherapy and offers improved patient care by individualizing treatment and avoiding ineffective chemotherapy.

FDG PET in the diagnosis of hilar cholangiocarcinoma.
Annette Fritscher-Ravens,K. H. Bohuslavizki,D C Broering,Lars Jenicke,H Schäfer,Ralph Buchert,X Rogiers,Malte Clausen +7 more
TL;DR: FDG PET does not allow the differentiation of benign from malignant lesions, and FDG PET should be avoided in patients with mucinous cholangiocarcinoma, but may have significant influence on the treatment strategy in as much as 20% of the patients, since it may detect distant metastases.

Long-Term Effects of “Ecstasy” Use on Serotonin Transporters of the Brain Investigated by PET
Ralph Buchert,Rainer Thomasius,Bruno Nebeling,Kay Uwe Petersen,Jost Obrocki,Lars Jenicke,Florian Wilke,Lutz Wartberg,P. Zapletalova,Malte Clausen +9 more
TL;DR: The hypothesis of ecstasy-induced protracted alterations of the serotonin transporter (SERT) ligand support the hypothesis of reversibility of the availability of SERT as measured by PET, but this does not imply full reversal of the neurotoxic effects.

Comparison of fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography and "conventional diagnostic procedures" for the detection of distant metastases in breast cancer patients.
J. Dose,C Bleckmann,S Bachmann,K. H. Bohuslavizki,J Berger,Lars Jenicke,C. R. Habermann,Fritz Jänicke +7 more
TL;DR: The sensitivity of FDG PET in the detection of bone and liver metastases was of the same magnitude as compared with bone scintigraphy and ultrasound of the abdomen and the sensitivity and specificity of CDPs remained unchanged.

Long-term effects of 'ecstasy' abuse on the human brain studied by FDG PET.
Ralph Buchert,Jost Obrocki,Rainer Thomasius,O Väterlein,K. U. Petersen,Lars Jenicke,K. H. Bohuslavizki,Malte Clausen +7 more
TL;DR: Electroconvulsive drug abuse causes long-lasting effects on glucose metabolism in the human brain, more severe in the case of very early abuse.
