Applied-B ion diode experiments on the particle beam fusion accelerator-I
P. L. Dreike,E. J. T. Burns,S. A. Slutz,J. T. Crow,D. J. Johnson,P. R. Johnson,R. J. Leeper,Paul A. Miller,L. P. Mix,David B. Seidel,David Franklin Wenger +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a series of experiments was performed with an Applied-B ion diode on the Particle Beam Fusion Accelerator•I, with peak voltage, current, and power of approximately 1.8 MV, 6 MA, and 6 TW, respectively.

Anode plasma behavior in a magnetically insulated ion diode
D. J. Johnson,E. J. T. Burns,J. P. Quintenz,K. W. Bieg,A. V. Farnsworth,L. P. Mix,M. A. Palmer +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the nature and time evolution of the surface flashover anode plasma in a magnetically insulated ion diode and showed that the divergence of the ion beam accelerated from this plasma is governed by the spatial nonuniformities of the plasma.

The characteristics of a medium current relativistic electron‐beam diode
TL;DR: More detailed observations of the Nereus diode were reported in this paper, employing a Thomson parabola analyzer to measure ion species and energies, a fourpulse holographic interferometer to observe plasma blowoff from the electrodes, and an image-converter streak camera to record total optical radiation and time-resolved emission spectra.

Relative x-ray collection efficiency, spatial resolution, and spectral resolution of spherically-bent quartz, mica, germanium, and pyrolytic graphite crystals
Tommy Ao,Eric Harding,James E. Bailey,Guillaume Loisel,S. Patel,Daniel Sinars,L. P. Mix,David Franklin Wenger +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral resolution of spherically-bent pyrolytic graphite (HAPG) mosaic crystals was compared with cylindrically and spatially-bent sparsified graphite mosaic crystals.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors designed and tested a 10 nH, 1.5 m radius vacuum section for the Z accelerator, which consists of four vacuum flares, four conical 1.3 m radius magnetically-insulated transmission lines (MITLs), a 7.6 cm radius 12-post double-post-hole convolute, and a 5 cm long inner MITL which connects the output of the convolute to a z-pinch load.
