Manufacture of Cement from Sewage Sludge
Joo-Hwa Tay,Kuan-Yeow Show +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental study on the use of sewage sludge together with limestone and clay as raw materials for making cementitious building material was conducted. But the results of this study were limited to a single masonry building.

Thermal Stabilization of Iron-Rich Sludge for High Strength Aggregates
TL;DR: In this paper, the potential of using an industrial sludge and marine clay to produce aggregates for replacement of regular coarse aggregate in concrete was examined, and it was shown that sludge aggregates of up to 20% clay content displayed better aggregate impact resistance of 23.1-28.8% Aggregate impact value (AIV) compared with 28.3-38.9% AIV for the control granite aggregate.

Performance of anaerobic packed-bed system with different media characteristics
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of media specific surface area, porosity, and pore size on the performance of upflow anaerobic packed-bed reactors (APBRs) were examined in the laboratory.

Utilization of ashes from oil-palm wastes as a cement replacement material
Joo-Hwa Tay,Kuan-Yeow Show +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the feasibility of utilizing the ashes derived from oil-palm fruit bunches, shell and fiber wastes as a cement replacement material for concrete making.

Calculation of energy recovery and greenhouse gas emission reduction from palm oil mill effluent treatment by an anaerobic granular-sludge process.
TL;DR: A scenario on emission avoidance based on a methane recovery and utilization project, an example analysis on emission reduction and an overview of the global emission market are presented.
