Measuring and Modelling Snowmelt in Dyrdalen, Western Norway, 1979 and 1980
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the turbulent heat exchange between the snowpack and the atmosphere as a residual from the energy balance equation of the snow pack during spring snowmelt and found that sensible heat flux represents 65%, and net radiation represents 35% of the energy consumed in melting.
