A PC-based ultrasonic data acquisition system for computer-aided prosthetic socket design
TL;DR: A PC-based ultrasound data acquisition system has been developed which uses compound scanning techniques to image a residual limb in a water tank and produces cross-sectional images and reconstructs a three-dimensional model of the limb.

A motion compensated ultrasound spatial compounding algorithm
Kefu Xue,Ping He,Yiwei Wang +2 more
- 30 Oct 1997
TL;DR: The authors' finding on the image feature based motion compensation algorithm to produce a high resolution compound image of a residual limb image is reported.

A PC-based ultrasound scanning system for imaging a residual limb
TL;DR: A PC-based ultrasound scanning system which uses compound imaging technique to reconstruct cross sectional images of the limb, showing bones and other soft tissues within the limb so that a prosthetist is able to perform socket design more objectively and consistently.

Effects of spatial compounding upon image resolution
Ping He,Kefu Xue,Yiwei Wang +2 more
- 30 Oct 1997
TL;DR: In this paper, a two-step calibration procedure is developed for accurately determining the location of the center of rotation of a compound scan, and the mean resolution of the compound image improves continuously when the compound angle is increased from 0/spl deg/ to 120/pl deg/

A 3D visualization tool for landmark allocation
TL;DR: The potential to improve prosthetic CAD/CAM practice using ultrasound is demonstrated and a 3D visualization tool to explore ultrasound data of both external shape and internal tissue and bony structure of a residual limb is developed to aid landmark allocation.
