Effects of desipramine, amitriptyline, and fluoxetine on pain in diabetic neuropathy.
TL;DR: Desipramine relieves pain caused by diabetic neuropathy with efficacy similar to that of amitriptyline, offering an alternative for patients unable to tolerate the latter and blockade of norepinephrine reuptake is likely to mediate the analgesic effect of these antidepressant drugs in diabetic Neuropathy.

Effects of Desipramine, Amitriptyline and Fluoxetine on Pain in Diabetic Neuropathy
TL;DR: In this article, the authors carried out two randomized, double-blind, crossover studies in patients with painful diabetic neuropathy, comparing amitriptyline with the relatively selective blocker of norepinephrine reuptake desipramine in 38 patients, and comparing the selective blocker with placebo in 46 patients.

Transdermal clonidine versus placebo in painful diabetic neuropathy.
TL;DR: It is concluded that there may be a subset of patients with diabetic polyneuropathy who respond to transdermal clonidine, and further research is needed to identify features of neuropathic pain that predict drug response and to develop study designs that are more sensitive to a response in a subsection of patients.

TL;DR: The addition of thoracic CT scans during follow-up, which included clinic visits and chest x-rays after surgery, did not result in longer survival among patients with NSCLC, but it did enable the detection of more cases of early recurrence and second primary lung cancer, which are more amenable to curative-intent treatment.

Patrick B. Murphy,Maxime Patout,Gill Arbane,Swapna Mandal,Georgios Kaltsakas,Michael I. Polkey,Mark W. Elliott,Joanne Muir,Abdel Douiri,David Parkin,Jean-Paul Janssens,Jean-Louis Pépin,Antoine Cuvelier,Clare Flach,Nicholas Hart +14 more
TL;DR: There was no difference in medium-term cost-effectiveness, with similar clinical effectiveness, between outpatient and inpatient NIV setup in patients with stable OHS and patients with obesity hypoventilation syndrome.
