TL;DR: In this article , a genome-wide association study (GWAS) derived polygenic risk score (PRS) for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) was used to identify individuals at risk of diseases, optimize treatment, and predicting survival outcomes.
Circulating DNA genomewide fragmentation in early detection and disease monitoring of hepatocellular carcinoma
Shifeng Lian,Chenyu Lu,Fugui Li,Xia Yu,Limei Ai,B. Wu,Xueyi Gong,Wenjing Zhou,Yulong Xie,Yun Du,W. Quan,Panpan Wang,Li Deng,Xuejun Liang,Jiyun Zhan,Yong Yuan,Fang Fang,Zhiwei Liu,Mingfang Ji,Zongli Zheng +19 more
TL;DR: Genome-wide circulating cell-free DNA (ccfDNA) fragmentation for cancer detection has been rarely evaluated using blood samples collected before cancer diagnosis and suggested ccfDNA fragmentation is sensitive in clinical HCC detection and might be helpful in screening early HCC.

EBV antibody and gastric cancer risk: a population-based nested case-control study in southern China
Yun Du,Xia Yu,Ellen T. Chang,Li Yin,Shifeng Lian,Biao Hua Wu,Fugui Li,Zhi-Heng Liang,Yumei Zeng,Bing Chu,Kuangrong Wei,Jiyun Zhan,X.J. Liang,Weimin Ye,Ming Jia +14 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the associations between serological Epstein-Barr nuclear antigen 1 immunoglobulin A (EBNA1-IgA) and viral capsid antigen immunoglobalulin A and found that increased relative optical density (rOD) values were associated with higher risks of gastric cancer with age adjusted ORs of 1.99 (95%CI: 1.07, 3.70) and 2.33, 5.23).

Monitoring hepatocellular carcinoma using tumor content in circulating cell-free DNA.
Shifeng Lian,Chenyu Lu,Fugui Li,Xia Yu,Limei Ai,B. Wu,Xueyi Gong,Wenjing Zhou,Xuejun Liang,Jiyun Zhan,Yong Yuan,Fang Fang,Zhiwei Liu,Mingfang Ji,Zongli Zheng +14 more
TL;DR: The tumor content in ccfDNA is correlated with tumor burden and may help in monitoring HCC one year earlier than clinical diagnosis and in predicting patient prognosis.
Epstein Barr virus antibody and cancer risk in two prospective cohorts in Southern China
Ming-Fang Ji,Yong Qiao He,Minzhong Tang,Wen-qiong Xue,Xia Yu,Hua Diao,Zhi-Ming Mai,Io Hong Cheong,Zhi-Yang Zhao,B. Wu,Fu-Gui Li,Jiyun Zhan,Chang-Ling Huang,Hao-Lin Ma,Jun Li,Yan-Cheng Li,Zhi-Heng Liang,Shi-Feng Lian,Yun Du,Xuejun Liang,Zisis Kozlakidis,Jun Ma +21 more
TL;DR: This study investigates the association between Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) VCA-IgA antibody levels and cancer risk in two large prospective cohorts in Southern China, finding increased risks of multiple cancers, including lung, liver, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and lymphoma.
