Calcium and TRPV4 promote metastasis by regulating cytoskeleton through the RhoA/ROCK1 pathway in endometrial cancer.
Xingchen Li,Yuan Cheng,Zhiqi Wang,Jingyi Zhou,Yuanyuan Jia,Xiangjun He,Lijun Zhao,Yangyang Dong,Yuan Fan,Xiao Yang,Boqiang Shen,Xiaotong Wu,Jiaqi Wang,Chunyang Xiong,Li-hui Wei,Xiaoping Li,Jianliu Wang +16 more
TL;DR: It is reported here on the findings that a high level of serum ionized calcium was significantly correlated with advanced EC progression, and among all the calcium channels, TRPV4 played an essential role, with high levels of TRpV4 expression associated with cancer progression both in vitro and in vivo.
17β-Estradiol activates PI3K/Akt signaling pathway by estrogen receptor (ER)-dependent and ER-independent mechanisms in endometrial cancer cells
Rui-xia Guo,Li-hui Wei,Zheng Tu,Pengming Sun,Pengming Sun,Jianliu Wang,Dan Zhao,Xiaoping Li,Jian-min Tang +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that E2 is able to promptly activate PI3K/Akt signal pathway in Ishikawa cells in an ER-dependent manner and ER-independent in HEC-1A cells, which show no response to endocrinal therapy.

Overexpression of the insulin receptor isoform A promotes endometrial carcinoma cell growth.
TL;DR: Findings reveal the pivotal role of IR-A in endometrial cancer carcinogenesis, and suggest that the association of elevatedIR-A levels with cell proliferation and tumorigenicity may be causally linked to its effect on the proportion of cells in S phase and the activation of the Akt pathway.
Nongenomic effect of estrogen on the MAPK signaling pathway and calcium influx in endometrial carcinoma cells.
TL;DR: The nongenomic effects of E2 are studied in two human endometrial carcinoma cell lines by cultivating them with either E2 or its membrane‐impermeable conjugate, E2–BSA, and it is found that phosphorylation of Erk1/2 could be induced by either E 2 or E2-BSA in Ishikawa cells, and calcium can activate Erk 1/2osphorylation.

Lba2_prgefitinib/chemotherapy vs chemotherapy in epidermal growth factor receptor (egfr) mutation-positive non-small-cell lung cancer (nsclc) after progression on first-line gefitinib: the phase iii, randomised impress study
Tony Mok,Y-L. Wu,Kazuhiko Nakagawa,S.-B. Kim,J.-J. Yang,M-J. Ahn,Jianliu Wang,J.C.-H. Yang,Yiping Lu,Shinji Atagi,Santiago Ponce,Xiaojin Shi,Alan Webster,H. Jiang,J-C. Soria +14 more
TL;DR: The IMPRESS study is the first and only randomised Phase III study to confirm continuation of gefitinib in addition to cis/pem would be of no clinical benefit for pts with acquired resistance to gef itinib; thus the standard of care should remain doublet chemotherapy alone.
