Effect of Psychostimulants on Distinct Attentional Parameters in Attentional Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Javier López,Vladimir López,Daniel Rojas,Ximena Carrasco,Ximena Carrasco,Paula Rothhammer,Ricardo García,Francisco Rothhammer,Francisco Aboitiz +8 more
TL;DR: The results in children medicated with 10 mg of d-amphetamine administered 60 min before the study indicate a significant increase in amplitude but not latency of the P300 component of the event-related potential (ERP) during the sustained attentional task and a significant improvement in the reaction times and correct responses in the selective attentionaltask.
[Neuropsychological and neurophysiological features of Fahr's disease].
TL;DR: The observations suggest that the pathogenesis of cognitive and motor changes in Fahrs disease is based in a dysfunction of cortico basal connections and their interhemispheric relations, which defines a subcortical dementia secondary to mineral deposits in subCortical structures.

Síndrome de Williams: estudio clínico, citogenético, neurofisiológico y neuroanatómico
Teresa Aravena,Silvia Castillo,Ximena Carrasco,Ismael F. Mena,Javier López,Juan P Rojas,Carol Rosemberg,Carolina Schröter,Francisco Aboitiz +8 more
TL;DR: There are functional alterations in the brains of patients with Williams, which may be related to the cognitive deficits, and event related potentials suggested a cognitive difficulty in detecting and processing visual stimuli.

An hypothesis on the early evolution of the development of the isocortex
TL;DR: It is suggested that the evolutionary advent of the mammalian cortical inside-out gradient became partly possible through the activation of the Cdk5/p35 pathway, which permitted migrating cells to move across layers of older cells.

Electrophysiological Evidences of Inhibition Deficit in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder During the Attentional Blink
Vladimir López,Fabian Pavez,Javier López,Rodrigo Ortega,Nicolas Sáez,Ximena Carrasco,Paula Rothhammer,Francisco Aboitiz +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the temporal distribution of attentional resources in patients with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in relation to healthy controls and found an increased number of commission and omission errors in the ADHD group.
