L-Ascorbic acid can abrogate SVCT-2-dependent cetuximab resistance mediated by mutant KRAS in human colon cancer cells
Jung Soo A,Dae Hee Lee,Jai Hee Moon,Seung Woo Hong,Jae Sik Shin,Hwang Ih Yeon,Yu Jin Shin,Jeong Hee Kim,Eun Yeung Gong,Seung Mi Kim,Eun Young Lee,Seul Ki Lee,Jeong Eun Kim,Kyu Pyo Kim,Yong Sang Hong,Jung Shin Lee,Dong Hoon Jin,Tae Won Kim,Wang Jae Lee +18 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that L-ascorbic acid partners with cetuximab to induce killing effects, which are influenced by sodium-dependent vitamin C transporter 2 (SVCT-2) in human colon cancer cells with a mutant KRAS.

Iris Nertschinskia ethanol extract differentially induces cytotoxicity in human breast cancer cells depending on AKT1/2 activity.
Jae Sik Shin,Hyung Gun Maeng,Seung Woo Hong,Jai Hee Moon,Jin Sun Kim,Young Ah Suh,Eun Sung Kim,Youngmin Lee,Ye Seul Kim,Eun Kyung Choi,Inki Kim,Sok Young Lee,Dong-Hyung Cho,Nam Joo Hong,Tae Won Kim,Dong Hoon Jin,Wang Jae Lee +16 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that an ethanol extract of I. nertschinskia differentially induces cell death in breast cancer cells depending on their level of phosphorylated AKT1/2.

Composition for treatment or metastasis suppression of cancers which includes p34 expression inhibitor or activity inhibitor as active ingredient
Tae Won Kim,Dong Hoon Jin,Seung Woo Hong,Jai Hee Moon,Jae Sik Shin,Jin Sun Kim,Jung Kyung Ah,Jung Shin Lee,Eun Kyung Choi,Jae-Lyun Lee,Yong Sang Hong,Kyu Pyo Kim,Ky Youb Nam,Bong Cheol Kim +13 more

TL;DR: In this paper, the p34 protein knockdown causes monoubiquitination of PTEN and accordingly nuclear localization of the PTEN is induced, as a result, an Akt pathway which is related to survival, proliferation, invasive properties and metastatic properties of tumours is inhibited, and thus there is an effect of significantly reducing clonogenic potential and tumour forming potential of various cancer cells which simultaneously express PTEN.

Combined treatment with vitamin C and sulindac synergistically induces p53- and ROS-dependent apoptosis in human colon cancer cells.
Eun Yeung Gong,Yu Jin Shin,Hwang Ih Yeon,Jeong Hee Kim,Seung Mi Kim,Jai Hee Moon,Jae Sik Shin,Dae Hee Lee,Dae Young Hur,Dong Hoon Jin,Seung-Woo Hong,Seung-Woo Hong,Won-Keun Lee,Wang Jae Lee +13 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that combination therapy with sulindac and vitamin C could be a novel anti-cancer therapeutic strategy for p53 wild type colon cancers.
NVP-BEZ235, a dual PI3K/mTOR inhibitor, induces cell death through alternate routes in prostate cancer cells depending on the PTEN genotype
Seung Woo Hong,Jae Sik Shin,Jai Hee Moon,Ye Seul Kim,Jooyoung Lee,Eun Kyoung Choi,Ha Seung Hee,Dae Hee Lee,Ha Na Chung,Jeong Eun Kim,Kyu Pyo Kim,Yong Sang Hong,Jae-Lyun Lee,Wang Jae Lee,Eun Kyung Choi,Jung Shin Lee,Dong Hoon Jin,Tae Won Kim +17 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the PTen/PI3K/Akt pathway is critical for prostate cancer survival, and targeting PI3K signaling by NVP-BEZ235 may be beneficial in the treatment of prostate cancer, independent of the PTEN genotype.
