Mode of action of the ecdysone agonist tebufenozide (RH-5992), and an exclusion mechanism to explain resistance to it.
Arthur Retnakaran,Ivan Gelbič,Meenakshi Sundaram,William Tomkins,Tim R. Ladd,M. Primavera,Qili Feng,Basil M. Arif,Reddy Palli,Peter J. Krell +9 more
TL;DR: It is discovered recently that older instars of the white-marked tussock moth (Orgyia leucostigma) are resistant to tebufenozide, perhaps as a result of such an exclusion system, and PDR5 (pleiotropic drug resistance 5) was responsible for the exclusion.

Hormonal control of vitellogenin synthesis in Pyrrhocoris apterus (L.) (Heteroptera)
TL;DR: Application of a juvenile hormone analogue restored the ability of allatectomized females to produce female-specific polypeptides and to sequester them into the ovaries by means of ovariectomy and immunoblotting.

Influence of Metyrapone on the Morphology of Hemocytes of the Egyptian Cotton Leafworm Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.)
TL;DR: Application of metyrapone caused developmental changes accompanied by variations in the differential count of granulocytes and resulted in precocious larval-pupal transformations.
High recombinagenic activities of three antiviral agents, adenine derivatives, in the Drosophila wing spot test.
František Marec,Ivan Gelbič +1 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that these adenine derivatives can be incorporated into DNA chains during replication, which would result, via breaks and DNA repair mechanisms, either in various recombination events or in chromosome aberrations.

Archives of microbiology: screening of pectinase-producing bacteria from citrus peel and characterization of a recombinant pectate lyase with applied potential.
TL;DR: The OR-B 2 can be a new resource for pectinase production and the PelB-B2 has potential for industrial application.
