A component assembly system and method, by which an optimum combination of components can be determined by using inspection information of each component. The system has: an inspection information reading section for reading first and second inspection information regarding assembling of first and second components; a component reserving section for reserving each component; a storing section for storing a relationship between the inspection information of each component and a reserve position of each component; a grouping section for providing at least one first and second groups respectively including the first and second components; a combination determining section for determining a combination of the first and second components on one-to-one correspondence, by using the first and second inspection information; and a component conveying device for conveying the first and second components corresponding to the determined combination from the component reserving section to an assembly device, by using the stored relationship.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component assembling system and a component assembling method having a function of determining an optimum combination of components by using inspection information of each component.SOLUTION: A component assembling system 10 includes: an inspection information reading unit 28 for reading first and second inspection information concerning the assembling of first and second components; a component reserving unit 24 for reserving each component; a storage unit 30 for storing the correspondence between the inspection information and the place where each of the components is reserved; a grouping unit for grouping the first and second components into one or more respective groups; a combination determination unit 34 for determining a combination of the first and second components between the groups, using the first and second inspection information; and a component conveying apparatus 20 for feeding the first and second components corresponding to the determined combination from the component reserving unit 24 to an assembling apparatus 22, using the correspondence stored in the storage unit 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

PURPOSE:To minimize a fluctuation in gap sizes by lighting up an indication lamp located at an optimum combination of components by measurement data sent from a computer and obtained from heads for measuring inner and outer diameters. CONSTITUTION:Components 4, 5 whose inner and outer diameters are to be measured respectively are placed in an inner diameter and an outer diameter component housing trays 11, 12, and the respective trays 11, 12 are mounted on a matching indicator 16. Then the components 4, 5 are mounted on an inner diameter and an outer diameter measuring heads 1, 2 respectively to have their inner and outer diameters measured. At this time each measurement data of the components 4, 5 is read from the head 1 or 2 into a control amplifier 3 and sent to a computer 13. The computer 13 rearranges measurement results of the inner and outer diameters from the smallest one, wherein the components 4, 5 are combined according to the order, a gap between each combination of components is calculated, whether or not the gap is within a tolerance is determined, and an indication lamp of the indicator 16 located at the optimum combination of the components 4, 5 is lit.
