PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape prediction apparatus capable of accurately predicting a shape of a product which is manufactured by cutting a rough material. SOLUTION: A shape prediction apparatus has a means for inputting three-dimensional shape data after modeling a shape of the rough material by a plurality of minute elements, a means for inputting an internal stress generated in each minute element of the rough material, a means for inputting a cutting condition at the time of cutting work, a first simulation means for calculating a cutting area when cutting the rough material by its cutting condition using the input three-dimensional shape data of the rough material and the cutting condition, a means for correcting the three-dimensional shape data of the rough material using the calculated cutting area, and a second simulation means for calculating the three-dimensional shape data of the rough material after cutting when the internal stress acts by using the corrected three-dimensional shape data and the input internal stress. A tool path generation device (50) for generating a tool path for forming, in a workpiece material, a recessed portion that is defined by the overall shape of an area to be machined and a depth, said tool path generation device (50) comprising: a spiral machining path reference circle generation unit (4) which extracts a plurality of circular regions satisfying preset conditions from the overall shape of the area to be machined; a spiral machining path generation unit (6) which generates a tool path for machining, along a spiral path, either the plurality of circular regions extracted by the spiral machining path reference circle generation unit (4), or regions including the plurality of circular regions and the surroundings thereof, and which also generates a spiral region shape to be machined, which is obtained by removing the regions to be machined along the spiral tool path from the overall shape of the area to be machined; and a trochoidal machining path generation unit (7) which generates a tool path for machining a post-spiral-machining region shape to be machined.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic operational processing data preparation method capable of reducing a cutting load at a point of a cutting tool where the load becomes large. SOLUTION: This processing data preparation method includes: an auxiliary line section generating step in which a processing auxiliary line for connecting two points before and after the moving direction of the cutting tool with respect to a point at which offset data of a cut object form a bottle neck or a foldback, and the processing auxiliary line is stored in a storage device; a processing position calculation step in which after the cutting tool has passed a first processing position arranged at predetermined intervals along the processing auxiliary line, a second processing position arranged at predetermined intervals along the offset data between the two points is calculated and the first and second processing positions are stored in the storage device; and a data generating step in which butting processing path data are created for driving the cutting tool so as to cut the cut object by the cutting tool moved to the first position before the cut object is cut by the cutting tool moved to the second processing position and the data are stored in the storage device. A first servomotor drives a first portion in a moving radius rotational direction. A second portion is supported by the first portion such that the second portion is movable in a moving radius direction. A second servomotor drives the second portion in the moving radius direction. The second portion supports a tool for processing a work. A control device generates measurement data indicating relationships between coordinates in the moving radius rotational direction of a plurality of points on a reference surface of the work and distances from the plurality of points to a distance sensor based on a distance signal from the distance sensor, determines a coordinate range in the moving radius rotational direction of a step formed on the reference surface based on the measurement data, generates control data indicating a locus of the tool based on the measurement data and the step coordinate range, and numerically controls the first and second servomotors based on the control data. The control device selectively uses a plurality of offset values based on the coordinate range of the step when generating the control data.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form tool paths with a uniform margin corresponding to both the shape of a product and the shape of material, enhance machining efficiency and prolong tool life. SOLUTION: The product shape PS having a recess in a portion thereof and the material shape MS are extracted. The material shape MS is offset outwardly by the tool radius and the product shape is offset onto or outward of the offset line M of the material shape. Offsets are made from the offset line P of the product shape obtained while allowing for a maximum margin and residual amounts inwards to form the plurality of tool paths T1, T2 and T3. The material shape AM after cutting is made from the tool paths formed is determined and is offset outwardly of the material shape by the tool radius. Thereafter, these processes are repeated as the tool diameter is varied if necessary, until an uncut shape is eliminated or the margin becomes no longer available.
