An inversion means (SU) inverts the pixel value output from the conversion means and outputs a resultant value and a second multiplication means (MU1) multiplies the pixel value of the first pixel or a pixel value of a third pixel constituting a background part of the image represented by the binary image data by the value output from the inversion means, and outputs a resultant value. An adding means (AD) adds up the value output from the first multiplication means and the value output from the second multiplication means, and outputs a resultant value as output image data.

SOLUTION: CPU 202 reads plotting data described in a page describing language from a page memory 211 and replaced it with the form of a plotting object and its arithmetic instruction. CPU 202 executes plotting logical arithmetic of destination data in a bit map memory 205 and the plotting object according to a plotting arithmetic instruction but when the plotting arithmetic instruction is 'transmission of destination data', read destination data and the result of plotting arithmetic which should be written back in the bit map memory 205 are equal. Therefore, when a plotting arithmetic instruction detection part 217 detects a plotting arithmetic instruction being 'transmission of destination data', data is not written back to the bit map data memory 205. Data stored in the bit map memory 205 including data which is not written back is delivered to a printer engine 100 for printing.
