To realize the high performance operation of the 5-degree-of-freedom bearingless permanent magnet synchronous motor (5-DOF-BPMSM), a novel decoupling control strategy combining fuzzy neural network inverse system (FNNIS) with active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) is proposed. Firstly, fuzzy neural network (FNN) is employed to approach the inverse system of the 5-DOF-BPMSM. By connecting the obtained inverse system with the original system, six independent pseudo-linear subsystems are constructed. Then, considering the influence of parametric variations and external disturbances in the process of operation, the ADRC theory is employed to design additional closed-loop controllers to ensure the stability of the pseudo-linear subsystems. Finally, comparative simulation and experimental results indicate that the proposed control strategy can achieve better control performance.

This work presents a novel direct torque and flux control (DTFC) of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with analytically-tuned proportional integral (PI) controllers. The proportional (K_p) and integral (K_i) gains of the PI controllers were accurately determined, from first principle, using the model of the control system. The PI flux and torque controllers were then developed in rotor reference frame. The designed PI controllers, together with the torque and flux controllers, were tested on a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The results obtained were compared with results from conventional DTFC system using manually-tuned PI controllers. The total harmonic distortion (THD) of motor phase currents is 18.80% and 4.81% for the conventional and proposed models respectively. This confirms a significant reduction in torque ripples. The control system was tested for step torque loading and found to offer excellent performance both during load changes, speed reversal, and constant load conditions.

Overview of Active Disturbance Rejection Control for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors

In this paper, the active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) strategy is proposed for the loading system. The behavior of actual loading system is influenced by a variety of factors including the internal parameters uncertainty and external disturbances, which will be observed by the designed extended state observer (ESO) and compensated by the controller. In addition, due to the existence of the tracking differentiator (TD) that arranges the transition process, the loading system controlled by ADRC can not only achieve the desired system loading curve but also almost no overshoot. Finally, a simulation model for a third-order loading system is built by Simulink platform to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control method. The designed ADRC control method for loading system has better dynamic performance and stronger robustness by compared with the classical PID control strategy.

This paper proposed a direct torque control (DTC) approach for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using the active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) technology. The ADRC technology is employed to design both the speed controller and torque controller to improve the robustness of the system, hence the uncertainties and the external perturbation of the system can be observed and compensated. Then the output voltage vectors which could compensate the errors of the torque and the flux are obtained through the angle increment of stator flux generated by the torque active disturbance rejection controller. Meanwhile, the pulse-width modulation signals are modulated through space vector modulation unit to drive the motor. The proposed control approach not only overcomes the large torque and flux ripples of the conventional DTC, but also gives the better dynamic response performance of the DTC system. Finally, the simulation test is performed by Matlab to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.

Direct Torque Control for PMSM Using Active Disturbance Rejection Control Method

In the indoor video surveillance system where the camera moves with the carrying equipment, the background and the target have different motion characteristics. Extracting and matching the background feature is the key to segment the background and foreground. For this reason, the background feature detection is of great significance. Aiming at the disadvantages of single feature based feature detection methods, a novel detection algorithm which combines both the features of corners and line segments is proposed. In the algorithm, the improved Harris algorithm and the Hough transform are used to roughly feature the corners and line segments respectively. Then, the distances from each selected corner to the line segments are calculated. In terms of the distances, the precise feature detection results are obtained. Finally, the NCC algorithm and RANSAC algorithm are used to bring the set of matching corners into the least square model to calculate the optimal parameter solution of affine transformation. Experimental results show that this algorithm has better performance in accuracy, real-time and robustness.
