Luminal and stromal areas of choroid determined by binarization method of optical coherence tomographic images
Shozo Sonoda,Taiji Sakamoto,Takehiro Yamashita,Eisuke Uchino,Hiroki Kawano,Naoya Yoshihara,Hiroto Terasaki,Makoto Shirasawa,Masatoshi Tomita,Tatsuro Ishibashi +9 more
TL;DR: Although both the luminal and the stromal areas of normal choroids decrease with increasing age and with longer ALs, the degree of decrease and areas affected were not the same.

Structural Changes of Inner and Outer Choroid in Central Serous Chorioretinopathy Determined by Optical Coherence Tomography.
Shozo Sonoda,Taiji Sakamoto,Nobuhiro Kuroiwa,Noboru Arimura,Hiroki Kawano,Naoya Yoshihara,Takehiro Yamashita,Eisuke Uchino,Takamasa Kinoshita,Yoshinori Mitamura +9 more
TL;DR: The larger hyperreflective area in the inner choroids is related to the inflammation and edema of the stroma of the choroid in the acute stage of CSC and the larger hyporeflective areas in the outer choroidal area is due to a dilatation of the vascular lumens of the larger blood vessels.
Particle-Induced Endophthalmitis: Possible Mechanisms of Sterile Endophthalmitis after Intravitreal Triamcinolone
TL;DR: Sterile endophthalmitis after IVTA is characterized by an immediate granulocytic infiltration and an increase of IL-6/IL-8 in the aqueous humor, which suggests mechanical/rheologic stress by particles presumably might be a new causative factor by increasing IL- 6/ IL-8.

Early Imaging of Macular Hole Closure: A Diagnostic Technique and Its Quality for Gas-Filled Eyes with Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography
Toshifumi Yamashita,Takehiro Yamashita,Hiroki Kawano,Yasushi Sonoda,Keita Yamakiri,Taiji Sakamoto +5 more
TL;DR: The present method provided clear SD-OCT images from gas- filled eyes, which is not only essential for the diagnosis of MH closure but also for establishing proper protocols and for studying the pathology of gas-filled eyes.

Incidence of outer foveal defect after macular hole surgery.
TL;DR: Outdoor foveal defects after successful macular hole surgery were observed in approximately half of the eyes during the early postoperative period and one third of the Eyes at 12 months postoperatively, suggesting that it takes longer than expected to recover the normal fveal anatomy after surgery.
