Precise determination of time to reach viral load set point after acute HIV-1 infection.
Xiaojie Huang,Hui Chen,Wei Li,Haiying Li,Xia Jin,Alan S. Perelson,Zoe Fox,Tong Zhang,Xiao-Ning Xu,Hao Wu +9 more
TL;DR: A novel uncomplicated mathematic model can accurately and reliably determine the set point at the very early stage of HIV infection, thus providing a new tool for physicians to better monitor early intervention strategies in acutely infected patients and scientists to rationally design preventative vaccine studies.

Cytokine cascade and networks among MSM HIV seroconverters: implications for early immunotherapy
Xiaojie Huang,Xinchao Liu,Kathrine Meyers,Lihong Liu,Bin Su,Pengfei Wang,Zhen Li,Lan Li,Tong Zhang,Ning Li,Hui Chen,Haiying Li,Hao Wu +12 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that immunomodulatory interventions aimed at controlling cytokine storm in AHI may be beneficial to slow eventual disease progression.
Clinical analysis of skin lesions in 796 Chinese HIV- positive patients.
Xiaojie Huang,Haiying Li,De-xi Chen,Xi-cheng Wang,Zai-chun Li,Yasong Wu,Tong Zhang,Yanqing Gao,Hao Wu +8 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that HAART often reduces the incidence of infectious and non-infectious skin lesions in patients with HIV, but can itself be the cause of drug eruptions.
Proliferation, but not interleukin 2 production, of Gag-specific CD8+ T cells is associated with low HIV viremia and high CD4 counts in HIV-1-infected Chinese individuals.
Haiying Li,Xinyue Chen,Xia Jin,Zhiying Liu,Xiaojie Huang,Zhenhuan Cao,Caiping Guo,Tao Dong,Hao Wu +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that good quality and large quantities of HIV Gag-specific T-cell responses are associated with virologic control in HIV-1-infected Chinese patients and it is inferred that protective T- cell vaccines tested in other populations should also provide benefit to the Chinese population.

Liver injury in HIV-1-infected patients receiving non-nucleosides reverse transcriptase inhibitors-based antiretroviral therapy.
Zaicun Li,Hongjun Li,Lili Dai,Yanqing Gao,Weiping Cai,Haiying Li,Xiaojie Huang,Tong Zhang,Hao Wu +8 more
TL;DR: Liver injury associated with HAART containing non-nucleosides reverse transcriptase inhibitors was mild to moderate and those who were co-infected with HBV and/or HCV, had concomitant use of antituberculosis drugs or cotrimoxazole and received a regimen containing nevirapine were prone to liver injury while receiving HAART.
