Co-immobilization of adhesive peptides and VEGF within a dextran-based coating for vascular applications.
Samantha Noel,Charles Fortier,Frederic Murschel,Antoine Belzil,Guillaume Gaudet,Mario Jolicoeur,Gregory De Crescenzo +6 more
TL;DR: Thoroughly selected dextran-VS provided an ideal platform for unbiased study of cell response to covalently grafted biomolecules and both adhesive and proliferative cues could be incorporated into the construct with additive, if not synergetic, effects.

Classification of Upper limb phantom movements in transhumeral amputees using electromyographic and kinematic features
TL;DR: Evaluating the classification accuracy of eight main upper limb phantom movements and a no movement class in transhumeral amputees based on sEMG data recorded exclusively on the residual limb may lead to the development of a new myoelectric control method for multi-DoF prostheses based on phantom movements of the amputee and kinematic data of the prosthesis.

Recurrent Neural Network for electromyographic gesture recognition in transhumeral amputees
TL;DR: This study aims to determine if a deep learning approach, specifically a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), could better recognize the movement intents in transhumeral amputees and suggests the RNN is better suited for a real-time prosthesis control that occurs between 100–250 ms.

Intra- and Intersession Reliability of Surface Electromyography on Muscles Actuating the Forearm During Maximum Voluntary Contractions.
TL;DR: This study shows that performing 3 MVICs is sufficient to obtain highly reliable maximal sEMG over 24 h for the main muscles actuating the forearm, and confirms the potential of s EMG for muscle motor functional monitoring.

Joint torque variability and repeatability during cyclic flexion-extension of the elbow
Laurent Ballaz,Laurent Ballaz,Maxime Raison,Christine Detrembleur,Guillaume Gaudet,Martin Lemay,Martin Lemay +6 more
TL;DR: The good repeatability of the flexion-extension peak torques represents a key step to standardize the functional evaluation of the upper limb.
