Generalizing semi-supervised generative adversarial networks to regression using feature contrasting
TL;DR: In this article, a semi-supervised regression GAN is proposed for regression problems and applied to age estimation, driving steering angle prediction, and crowd counting from a single image.
ASSIST: Evaluating the usability and performance of an indoor navigation assistant for blind and visually impaired people.
TL;DR: The studies show that ASSIST is useful in providing users with navigational guidance, improving their efficiency and (more significantly) their safety and accuracy in wayfinding indoors.

TL;DR: Researchers from the MOA-II microlensing survey measure the mass function of free-floating planets, finding a power-law distribution with a total of 21-23 FFPs per star, and predict the Roman Space Telescope will detect 988-1848 FFPs with masses down to Mars.

Improving Dense Crowd Counting Convolutional Neural Networks using Inverse k-Nearest Neighbor Maps and Multiscale Upsampling.
Greg Olmschenk,Hao Tang,Zhigang Zhu +2 more
- 01 Jan 2020
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the commonly accepted labeling scheme of crowd density maps for training deep neural networks is less effective than their alternative inverse k-nearest neighbor (i$k$NN) maps, even when used directly in existing state-of-the-art network structures.
