Thermodynamic analysis of dislocation glide controlled by dispersed local obstacles
TL;DR: In this article, a statistical-thermodynamic analysis of dislocation glide controlled by dispersed local obstacles is developed from first principles, and the results are applied in Part 2 to particular types of local obstacle.

The role of grain-boundary sliding in high-temperature creep
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that grain-boundary sliding is always easier than grain deformation in the high-temperature creep of polycrystalline aggregates, and that the latter generally determines the rate laws for creep.
