SOLUTION: In an FFC 23 comprising a slack portion 23a for absorbing the moving distance of a pickup section 11a, the slack portion 23a comprises bending sections 23b and 23c bent in opposite curving directions and by locking the FFC in the bending section 23b using an L-figured stopper 40, a connection section 12a is not affected by sliding of the pickup section 11a (load caused by the movement of the FFC near the connection section). An image forming apparatus includes a developing device. The developing device includes a toner carrier (developing roller). The developing roller includes a base member, electrode bars, a pair of electrodes, and a protection layer. The base member includes a conductive core and an insulating layer formed on the outer surface of the core. The electrode bars and the pair of electrodes are made of a conductive metal, and are provided on the outer surface of the insulating layer. The electrode bars and the pair of electrodes are formed in a way that an unnecessary portion of a metal film is irradiated with a laser beam and thus is removed. The electrodes are each formed helically on the outer surface of the base member 1 and formed to taper down toward the outmost side thereof in its cross section.

The manufacturing method of a roller-like developer carrier comprises: a step of adjusting the positional relation between a rotation axis of the roller member 1 and the light shielding mask 21, prior to the light irradiation; and a step of irradiating light while rotating the roller member 1 with the constant gap spacing or contact condition between the surface of the roller member 1 and the light shielding mask 21.

Manufacturing method of developer carrier

PURPOSE:To form a conductive film of a desired pattern on the inner surface of a transparent tube without need for complicated beam control operations by applying an electrically conductive film on the entire inner surface of the transparent tube, wrapping said tube with a mask which defines openings of desived shapes, and, irradiating the thus-wrapped tube with the laser beam. CONSTITUTION:A transparent tube 26, as a camera tube, is covered on all over the inner wall with a conductive film, and is wound around the outside surface with a laser beam mask 42 which has openings of a desired pattern. The mask 42 is made of copper or like metal which has high conductivity of heat. The transparent tube 26, on which the wound mask 42 is fixed, is held in a holder 24 of a moving stand 20, and, being rotated by the rotation of a rotating shaft 26, is moved in its axial direction on the moving stand 20 by a screw 36, and, moreover, is irradiated on all over the surface of the mask 42 with the laser beam 50. Then, parts of the conductive film inside of the tube 26 which are irradiated with the laser beam through holes of the mask 42 are eliminated, and a conductive film of a desired pattern, inside electrodes, is made.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a flexible contacting member from being brought into contact with a recording medium without making the whole of a device large. SOLUTION: A freely deformed part 7a is formed in the right side in the figure 1 by guiding out a flexible connecting member 7 which is capable of being deformed in a curved shape to the side of an upper surface 5b while drawing out it from the side face 5a of a moving head 5 and the attaching parts of the guided-out top end are electrically connected to the control circuit on a control board 3. Since a part which is drawn out from the side face 5a of the flexible connecting member 7 is positioned at a position corresponding to a guiding member 6, the lower surface side 7b of the part comes into contact with the guiding member 6. As a result, the connecting member 7 is prevented from being brought into contact with a photosensitive film 8.
