What are we
TL;DR: The question of what are we made of is a real and important question as discussed by the authors, which is different from the traditional mind-body problem and from familiar questions of personal identity, and it is frequently neglected.
Was I Ever a Fetus
TL;DR: The Standard View of Personal Identity as discussed by the authors states that a person can exist at another time only if there is continuity of her mental contents or capacities, and no person is psychologically continuous with a fetus, for a fetus has no mental features at all.

There is No Problem of the Self
TL;DR: The authors propose that we stop speaking of self in philosophical discussions. But they do not address the problem of self-identity, or characteristic features or even paradigm cases of self, in the sense that there is no agreed use of the term "self" or "the self" to figure in philosophical problems.
The Extended Self
TL;DR: The paper concludes that the extended-self thesis is unattractive, and does not follow from the extended mind unless thinking beings are literally bundles of mental states.
