Effectiveness of a 6-year multidomain vascular care intervention to prevent dementia (preDIVA): a cluster-randomised controlled trial
Eric P. Moll van Charante,Edo Richard,Lisa S. M. Eurelings,Jan-Willem van Dalen,Suzanne A. Ligthart,Emma F. van Bussel,Marieke P. Hoevenaar-Blom,Marinus Vermeulen,Willem A. van Gool +8 more
TL;DR: A nurse-led, multidomain intervention did not result in a reduced incidence of all-cause dementia in an unselected population of older people, and the efficacy of such interventions in selected populations should be assessed.

Apathy in Parkinson's disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Melina G.H.E. den Brok,Jan Willem van Dalen,Willem A. van Gool,Eric P. Moll van Charante,Rob M.A. de Bie,Edo Richard +5 more
TL;DR: It is found that apathy affects almost 40% of patients with PD, and treatment of apathy could improve patient quality of life, reduce caregiver burden, alleviate disability by increasing motivation for self‐care, and reduce cognitive impairment by improving executive functioning.

Association of anthropometry and weight change with risk of dementia and its major subtypes: A meta-analysis consisting 2.8 million adults with 57 294 cases of dementia.

TL;DR: The relationship between body size, weight change, and dementia is complex and exhibits non‐linear associations depending on dementia subtype under scrutiny and weight loss was associated with an elevated risk most likely due to reverse causality and/or pathophysiological changes in the brain, although the latter remains speculative.
Healthy ageing through internet counselling in the elderly (HATICE): a multinational, randomised controlled trial.

- 01 Dec 2019
TL;DR: Coach-supported self-management of cardiovascular risk factors using an interactive internet intervention is feasible in an older population, and leads to a modest improvement of cardiovascularrisk profile, which could potentially reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease.

TL;DR: The findings support clinical freedom in the selection of antihypertensive regimens to achieve blood pressure goals and found no relationship by class with incident cognitive decline or dementia among those aged >65 years.
