Rose Bengal-Modified Upconverting Nanoparticles: Synthesis, Characterization, and Biological Evaluation
Mykhailo Nahorniak,Ognen Pop-Georgievski,Nadiia Velychkivska,Marcela Filipová,Eliška Rydvalová,Kristyna Gunár,Petr Matous,Uliana Kostiv,D. Hoak +8 more
TL;DR: The cytotoxicity of UCNPs before and after conjugation with RB was evaluated on highly sensitive rat mesenchymal stem cells (rMSCs) and significant differences were found, suggesting the potential of RB-conjugated PEG-modifiedUCNPs for applications in photodynamic therapy of cancer.
pH-dependent disruption of giant polymer vesicles: A step towards biomimetic membranes
Vladimir Sincari,Eliézer Jäger,Kahynna Loureiro Cavalcante,Martina Vragović,Eddie Hofmann,Mathias Schlenk,Eliška Rydvalová,Marcela Filipová,Petr Štěpánek,Martin Hrubý,Stephan Förster,A Jager +11 more
TL;DR: Polymer giant unilamellar vesicles (PGUVs) capable of selectively delivering protected payloads into intracellular environments and releasing them in stimuli-triggered, precise spatially and temporally controlled manners are attractive bioactive cargo delivery as discussed by the authors .

Multimodal fluorescently labeled polymer-coated GdF3 nanoparticles inhibit degranulation in mast cells
Oleksandr Shapoval,Vadym Sulimenko,Anastasiya Klebanovych,Mariia Rabyk,Pavlo Shapoval,Ondřej Kaman,Eliška Rydvalová,Marcela Filipová,Eduarda Dráberová,Pavel Dráber,Daniel Horák +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a paramagnetic poly(4-styrenesulfonic acid-co-maleic acid) (PSSMA)-stabilized GdF3 nanoparticles with surface modified by Atto 488-labeled poly(styrene-grad-2-dimethylaminoethyl acrylate)-block-poly(2-dimensionalethylamine-acrylate)(PSDA-A488) with reactive amino groups were presented.

Cytotoxicity Evaluation of Photosensitizer-Conjugated Hexagonal Upconverting Nanoparticles
Mykhailo Nahorniak,Viktoriia Oleksa,Taras Vasylyshyn,Ognen Pop-Georgievski,Eliška Rydvalová,Marcela Filipová,D. Hoak +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper , hexagonal NaYF4:Yb upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) of 171 nm in size with a narrow particle size distribution were synthesized to address their colloidal stabi-lity in aqueous media and to incorporate a photosensitizer that can produce reactive singlet oxygen (1O2) to kill tumor cells.
