Heat flow and gravity interpretation across the Rio Grande Rift in southern New Mexico and west Texas
TL;DR: In this paper, heat flow measurements at 10 separate localities in southern New Mexico and West Texas range from 0.9 to 3.6 HFU (1 HFU = 1 × 10−6 cal/cm2 s), which contrasts strongly with 1.2 to 1.5 HFU values in bordering portions of the Basin and Range province and a 0.8 HFU value assumed for the southern Great Plains.

A continental crustal model and its geothermal implications
TL;DR: In this paper, a model based on realistic estimates of metamorphic rock volumes and H 2 O content is proposed as a basis for geothermal calculations, which predicts a temperature of only 407°C at the Moho and an upper mantle heat flow of 0.3-0.5 HFU.

Preliminary transient heat flow model of the Rio Grande rift in southern New Mexico
TL;DR: A positive gravity anomaly, anomalous seismic structure, and abnormally high reduced heat flow occur in a possible extension of the Rio Grande rift in southern New Mexico as discussed by the authors, which is explained by the transient effects of basaltic intrusions with dimensions based on interpretations from gravity and seismic data.

K, U, and Th distribution between dry and wet facies of a syenitic intrusion and the role of fluid content
TL;DR: In this paper, a strong empirical relationship between hydrous mineralogy and higher U and Th concentrations is established, which cannot be caused by differentiation affecting major elements; such and upward concentration of U and TH could be due to upward differentiation of H 2 O.
