TL;DR: To determine whether hydrocortisone improves outcome for patients with severe COVID-19, an ongoing adaptive platform trial testing multiple interventions within multiple therapeutic domains, for example, antiviral agents, corticosteroids, or immunoglobulin was conducted.
Conservative Oxygen Therapy during Mechanical Ventilation in the ICU.

TL;DR: A large, international trial that combines features of adaptive platform trials with pragmatic point-of-care trials to determine best treatment strategies for patients admitted to an intensive care unit with severe community-acquired pneumonia is presented.

Safety and efficacy of intravenous iron therapy in reducing requirement for allogeneic blood transfusion: systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised clinical trials
TL;DR: Intravenous iron therapy is effective in increasing haemoglobin concentration and reducing the risk of allogeneic red blood cell transfusion and could have broad applicability to a range of acute care settings and could be counterbalanced by a potential increased risk of infection.

TL;DR: Among ICU patients requiring mechanical ventilation, a strategy of stress ulcer prophylaxis with use of proton pump inhibitors vs histamine-2 receptor blockers resulted in hospital mortality rates of 18.3% vs 17.5%, respectively, however, study interpretation may be limited by crossover in the use of the assigned medication.
