In the logistics system, logistics nodes play an important role. The centre-of-gravity method is one of the most basic methods in solving the problem of single facility location. The thesis first uses the K-means clustering algorithm to divide the demand points into k clusters, and the k value is selected by the elbow method. Then, the k clusters are regarded as a single facility location problem and analyzed by the center of gravity method. In practical applications, the discrete model analysis can be cited to further obtain the optimal solution.

Solving Multiple Distribution Center Location Allocation Problem Using K-Means Algorithm and Center of Gravity Method Take Jinjiang District of Chengdu as an example

Rapid increasing logistics demands call for high efficiency delivery in cities. Effective city planning of distri- bution centers is crucial. This paper first analyzes the current situation and constraint of Shanghai distribution centers. Then investment proposal is made for Shanghai distribution center relocation. The facility site selection and layout plan are proposed, and the commitment is calculated. Lastly sensitivity analysis is provided. Proper relocation planning will be helpful to fulfill the increasing market requirements.

The distribution center location based on economics and timeliness was studied to improve the service level of logistics system.A model with time constraint was proposed to optimize the location with the target of minimizing total cost.The sequential quadratic programming(SQP),one of the solution methods to this model,was discussed.One case of distribution center location was solved by using the location model presented and the SQP.The results indicate that the location model and SQP can optimize the distribution center location with time constraint effectively.
