Recognizing COVID-19-related myocarditis: The possible pathophysiology and proposed guideline for diagnosis and management.
Bhurint Siripanthong,Saman Nazarian,Daniele Muser,Rajat Deo,Pasquale Santangeli,Mohammed Y Khanji,Mohammed Y Khanji,Leslie T. Cooper,C. Anwar A. Chahal,C. Anwar A. Chahal,C. Anwar A. Chahal +10 more
TL;DR: Clinicians should be vigilant to provide prompt monitoring and treatments of COVID-19 patients and an endomyocardial biopsy may help identify active cardiac infection through viral genome amplification and possibly refine the treatment risks of systemic immunosuppression.

Acute hemodynamic decompensation during catheter ablation of scar-related ventricular tachycardia: incidence, predictors, and impact on mortality.
Pasquale Santangeli,Daniele Muser,Erica S. Zado,Silvia Magnani,Sumun Khetpal,Mathew D. Hutchinson,Gregory E. Supple,David S. Frankel,Fermin C. Garcia,Rupa Bala,Michael P. Riley,David Lin,J. Eduardo Rame,Robert D. Schaller,Sanjay Dixit,Francis E. Marchlinski,David J. Callans +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identified univariate predictors of periprocedural acute hemodynamic decompensation in 193 consecutive patients undergoing radiofrequency catheter ablation of scar-related ventricular tachycardia (VT) and associated with increased risk of mortality over follow-up.

Long-Term Outcome After Catheter Ablation of Ventricular Tachycardia in Patients With Nonischemic Dilated Cardiomyopathy.
Daniele Muser,Pasquale Santangeli,Simon A. Castro,Rajeev K. Pathak,Jackson J. Liang,Tatsuya Hayashi,Silvia Magnani,Fermin C. Garcia,Mathew D. Hutchinson,G Supple,David S. Frankel,Michael P. Riley,David Lin,Robert D. Schaller,Sanjay Dixit,Erica S. Zado,David J. Callans,Francis E. Marchlinski +17 more
TL;DR: In patients with nonischemic dilated cardiomyopathy and VT, endocardial and adjuvant epicardial CA is effective in achieving long-term VT freedom in 69% of cases, with a substantial improvement in VT burden in many of the remaining patients.

Comparative effectiveness of antiarrhythmic drugs and catheter ablation for the prevention of recurrent ventricular tachycardia in patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Pasquale Santangeli,Daniele Muser,Shingo Maeda,Annalisa Filtz,Erica S. Zado,David S. Frankel,Sanjay Dixit,Andrew E. Epstein,David J. Callans,Francis E. Marchlinski +9 more
TL;DR: In patients with an ICD, both AADs (amiodarone) and CA reduce the risk of recurrent VT compared to control medical therapy, with no significant difference between the 2 treatments.

Long-Term Outcomes of Catheter Ablation of Ventricular Tachycardia in Patients With Cardiac Sarcoidosis
Daniele Muser,Pasquale Santangeli,Rajeev K. Pathak,Simon A. Castro,Jackson J. Liang,Silvia Magnani,Tatsuya Hayashi,Fermin C. Garcia,Mathew D. Hutchinson,Gregory E. Supple,David S. Frankel,Michael P. Riley,David Lin,Robert D. Schaller,Benoit Desjardins,Sanjay Dixit,David J. Callans,Erica S. Zado,Francis E. Marchlinski +18 more
TL;DR: In patients with cardiac sarcoidosis and VT, CA is effective in achieving long-term freedom from VT or improvement in VT burden in the majority of patients, and the presence of late gadolinium enhancement at magnetic resonance imaging, a positive PET scan at baseline, or lack of improvement at repeat PET over follow-up predict worse arrhythmia-free survival.
