The paper describes a soft computing agent approach to intelligent control of remote learning. It presents a special type of decision making soft computing agent applied to the selection of appropriate groups for definition of individual remote learning purposes. Soft computing agents are used to perform two tasks: optimal partitioning of distributed data bases in accordance with a grade of ability, and coordination in distributed environment for remote group definition. The first task is realized via two-hierarchical fuzzy system for optimisation of assessment parameters. The second is achieved by means of mobile intelligent agents for transmission, coordination, activation, and receiving decisions from/to remote learning nodes. As a final decision the node soliciting optimal group choice obtains information for group distributions over the whole system. Fuzzy agents versus intelligent swarms

The paper investigates some implementation aspects concerning the design of optimal PI controllers with reduced sensitivity by means of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithms. Second order controlled processes with an integral component are considered. The reduced sensitivity results from solving the optimization problems supported by the definition of four integral objective functions. The objective functions are based on the sum of the squared control error, the squared output sensitivity functions with respect to the parametric variations of the controlled process and eventually the squared derivatives of the control error. The effects of the modifications of some parameters specific to the PSO algorithms are analyzed and highlighted by digital simulation results considering several weighting parameters and dynamical regimes of the optimal control systems.

Soft computing, integrating fuzzy set theory, artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms and other intelligent methods, is widely used in the real-world to deal with uncertain and imprecise problems, and is popular with people. Also, agent theory is a new expressing knowledge and solving problems method, which is increasingly applied to complex systems such as industry, economy, finance, marketing, and ecology. Now some experts propose a new concept, the integration of soft computing and agent theory. It has the both advantages of these two theories and performs very well in the practice. In the paper, firstly, it introduced the soft computing and three main kinds of integration technologies of soft computing and their applications. Secondly, the paper showed some applications of soft computing in multi-agent and mobile agent respectively. Finally, it concludes that SCA has bright future in applications and can solve the most of imprecise and uncertain problems effectively and efficiently.

Research on Applications of Soft Computing Agents

The paper introduces a new paradigm in the broad family of software agents. It is called soft computing agents (SCA) that combines the advantages of soft computing technology with the software agents paradigm as universal optimal resource allocation techniques. SCA is oriented to improve the quality of service QoS and endows intelligent agents with the ability to perceive, be aware, and perform sensitive to customers' claims optimal actions. Primary definitions and axiomatics of SCA are introduced. The strategy of mobile SCA creation dedicated to a routing task has been developed. It comprises three types of SCAs: information, optimal routing, and inter-node interactive. These three types of SCA have been created for the solution of optimal routing tasks into Internet applications. The first, information SCA, is responsible for providing necessary information in all the nodes under some horizon under consideration. The second type performs optimization based on such gathered information. The third type, inter-node interactive SCA, is responsible for timely recover of the current states to every node into the horizon after every successive routing implementation.
