Characterization of resistance mechanisms of Enterobacter cloacae Complex co-resistant to carbapenem and colistin.
Shixing Liu,Renchi Fang,Ying Zhang,Lijiang Chen,Na Huang,Kaihang Yu,Cui Zhou,Jianming Cao,Tieli Zhou +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that there is no overlap between the resistance mechanism of co-resistant ECC strains to carbapenem and colistin, and the emergence of strain co-harboring plasmid-mediated resistance genes indicated that ECC is a potential carrier for the horizontal spread ofcarbapenems and colists resistance.
Taxonomy, virulence determinants and antimicrobial susceptibility of Aeromonas spp. isolated from bacteremia in southeastern China.
Yao Sun,Yajie Zhao,Wenya Xu,Renchi Fang,Qing Wu,Haokuang He,Chunquan Xu,Cui Zhou,Jianming Cao,Lijiang Chen,Tieli Zhou +10 more
TL;DR: The prevalence and dangerousness of Aeromonas infections, especially A. dhakensis, are underestimated in clinic and more effective measure is required to control the spread of resistance determinants.
Resistance and Heteroresistance to Colistin in Escherichia coli Isolates from Wenzhou, China.
Wenli Liao,Jie Lin,Huaiyu Jia,Cui Zhou,Ying Zhang,Yishuai Lin,Jian Zhong Ye,Jianming Cao,Tieli Zhou +8 more
TL;DR: The present study was the first to investigate the differential mechanisms between colistin resistance and heteroresistance in Escherichia coli isolates from Wenzhou, China, and indicated that the additional phosphoethanolamine moieties in lipid A profiles were present both in colist in-resistant andheteroresistant isolates.
Hypervirulent carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae causing highly fatal meningitis in southeastern China
Na Huang,Huaiyu Jia,Beibei Zhou,Cui Zhou,Jianming Cao,Wen-Ling Liao,Shixing Liu,Lingbo Wang,Liqiong Chen,Lijiang Chen,Tieli Zhou,Jianzhong Ye +11 more
TL;DR: The high percentage and fatality of K. pneumoniae-caused meningitis, particularly in Hv-CRKP strains, should be of significant concern and more effective surveillance and treatment solutions will be required in future to avoid the spread of these life-threatening infections over the world.
Naringenin restores colistin activation against colistin-resistant gram-negative bacteria in vitro and in vivo
Mengxin Xu,Zhuocheng Yao,Yining Zhao,Shiyi Shi,Yao Sun,Luozhu Feng,Cui Zhou,Xiaodong Zhang,Jianming Cao,Tieli Zhou +9 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the antibacterial and antibiofilm activities of naringenin (NG) combined with colistin against Col-R GNB in vitro and in vivo revealed that it exhibited good synergistic effects in vivo and in vitro, thus providing a new therapeutic option for clinical Col- R GNB infections.
